A few days before in my face book an Arab man asked me a blunt question regarding my religious views. He expressed his sincere doubt if I am a Muslim or if I am faking a Muslim name. He read my wall and other articles in various forums which led him to determine that no Muslim can write such audacious things about Islam. To me religion was never an important subject. I personally do not believe that an outside faith can ever control my life and thinking. The supreme purpose of faith is not to imprison a person’s soul; it should be used to embrace freedom from ignorance. Recently I was having a conversation with a young Muslim man in the face book. After exchanging views for a long time he sincerely told me that under Islamic laws I am liable to be beheaded. I am lucky that I don’t live in a society where Islamic rule works. In this discussion whenever I raised the question of logic and reason, he simply reminded me that a believer must surrender to the unknown. I know it very clearly that every faith has its own iota of fables which were inserted into the faith when it was first constructed.
