WAJID KHAN - SHAME ON YOU... |
|
Wajid Khan has
shown his true colors, his love for opportunism and
his lack of class.
When he was elected to
the Parliament of Canada as the First Muslim
Pakistani ( it is suspected in political circles
that he bought his nomination with had cash), there
was an unabashed aura of excitement, joy and pride
amongst his supporters - Arabs, Pakistanis and a
great number of South Asians. In his first Term
his Services that he rendered for his Constituents
were worthy of any mention. By
the time he was re-elected with benefit of a strong
and effective Liberal Riding he had become an expert
of photo-op magic and a Mater of Prism. In Toronto's
vibrant 14 Urdu Weekly's he, with dyed jet-black
hair appeared on regular basis, frequently
ingratiating his admirers with color full page ads.
He attended Receptions,
Birthday Parties, Restaurant Openings, Social Get-to
gathers,
Barbecue Picnics et al.
What help and assistance he provided to his
constituents in Mississauga is sad joke. On a
personal note when I went to his Office ( first time
in 39 years to any political Office) on a minor
matter - it was not request for a favor. It was a
service he was required to provide as my MP,
he asked me to come back. Second time he told his
secretary to show me the door.
Historically,
Immigrants, South Asians, and especially Muslims
have supported the Liberal philsophy, Idiology and
the Party.
Stephen Harper, a shrewd
Politician, realizes the clout of Ontario, in
particular GT' voters. He knows that without
Toronto' blessing he cannot be re -elected. As such,
he started looking for an underling, a "GUMASHTA" to
create a new face to his ultra-conservative
policies. Wajid Khan, reportedly, was making waves
to promote his image and standing. So he became the
ideal stool pigeon and a new convert to Tory dogma.
Harper, out of blue,
appointed Wajid Khan his Advisor on Middle East and
Arab-Israeli
situation. Wajid Khan
does not possess an iota of knowledge or expertise
on the subject. He is neither a Henry Kissinger nor
Bob Woodward. His command on English language is
lacking. Now, Stephen Harper is, according Political
Analysts, the most Pro-Israel and a shamelessly
tailor-made follower of American jingoism Prime
Minister of Canada in the last 50 Years. He fails to
acknowledge even consider the crimes of George Bush
in Iraq.
He has not just attacked
and occupied a Muslim/Arab country. He is
responsible for the death of over 600,000 Iraqis. He
has created the worst sectarian holocaust in human
history. He has created death cities, death Bazars,
death streets and death Masajids He has generated an
exodus of some 3 million Iraqis to other countries.
He destroyed a culture of and the spirit of Great
Mesopootamia. Any
fair-minded Historian will admit that his crimes in
fact exceed Saddam's tyranny. I wonder how would Wajid
Khan face his deeply conscientious voters as he
himself has no scrupulosity or morality poangs. However,
I am as sure as I can be that they would give him
the treatment he deserves at the impending Polls.
