Dear Akbar Dear Rashid [Mughal] Sahiban
Post number 25 and 29
Akbar Sahib, the remarkable quote you presented
from Khalil Jibran, I
feel defines some of us. I very much have liked to be part of that
definition.
Also I thank you for enlightening us by saying
the most in the fewest words.
For a long time I have held an opinion that
religion is fraud. Discussion about fraud leads to more fraud. Eventually,
it leads to tragedy.
State of Pakistan,
where there hardly exists a “Muslim” and state of Israel,
where there hardly exists a “Jew”, and yet tragedy prevails.
We, the
FOTH members have failed to understand this tragedy. Most of the world has
failed to recognize this tragedy.
Akbar Sahib, let me also share my thought with
you. You say that, and I quote you “a Muslim can never be a secular person.
Islam does not approve secularism.”
In my humble opinion, a Muslim who is not secular
is NOT a Muslim [whatever that is]. What I mean is that anyone who calls
himself/herself a true Muslim DOES HAVE TO BE SECULAR. Same is true about
[followers of other religions, too].
In my opinion, observation, there are no two ways about it.
Rasheed Sahib, thank you for calling a spade, a spade. I fail to understand why so many of us
fail to understand [agree] when you make the most simple, obvious,
straightforward, accurate statements. Not only in this forum, but in the
past forums I have observed this situation. Perhaps intellectual dishonesty
is an unintentional characteristic of many scholars. Why could we not
describe such “ intellectual scholar” as ignorant.
