Dear Farzana Sahiba,
I was not aware that you were
perusing a doctoral degree; I wish you success in that Endeavour. Also, I
was not aware of MCC related changes.
The driving force behind the
questions were your certain comments in post 22
which appeared shocking to me and inconsistent with the beliefs of a
Muslim. Since I have been under the impression that you were a Muslim,
hence my surprise.
In your most recent post, (#44), you have clearly indicated that you no
longer subscribe to Islam, Quran or God, which is of course your own
prerogative and basic human right to chose as you wish. With this newly
acquired knowledge about your beliefs, clearly your statements in your post
(#22) are neither a shock nor a surprise to me as the statements are
consistent with the ideology of a no-believer or a non-Muslim.
Lately, it has become a practice
in certain circles to refer to the non-believers as the rational people and
those who are believers as the irrational lot. Since both ideologies have
certain amount of paradoxes involved both can be proved to be irrational
according to the philosophical meanings of rationality. Hence my reason to
explore the term to ensure a consistent application to put every one on
same footings.
Regarding your remarks in passing
referring to “everyone’s own truth” which you have attributed to Suhail sahib; I
imagine he says that in a loose sense as a figure of speech to put people
at ease. Seriously speaking, a statement such as, ‘absolute truth does not
exists’ is very irrational and self contradictory.
Regards,
Javed I. Chaudry
