"Naach na janey aangan terha"
Akber Choudhry and his slant of opinions are
well known to everyone on this and other forums on the net. An issue
that is very multi-faceted in nature and which also inter alia has
religious undertones cannot be decreed upon in a few words, in a box
with a square thinking.
I presume that Akber should already know that human attitudes are
both an indirect and direct manifestation of his or her thinking and
thought pattern, as is popularly said that, "whatever you think, you
become". Just squarely saying that Islam (I do not know whose
perception), has absolutely "nothing" to do with this incident is a
misrepresentation of common wisdom. Even saying squarely that this
incident is only because of "Islam" is an incorrect assessment. What
is correct is to carry out a cause and affect analysis of this as
well as other similar scenarios, happening around us. When you have
done that, I am sure that the fact that there are religious
undertones to this issue cannot be denied at all. Muslims cannot
just get away by saying that this is a result of "misconceived
religious undertones", which would again open up the question of
"personal perception" of religious eddicts and what is the "correct"
perception, yours or mine?
When are we going to shun knee-jerkism in our responses and
attitudes?
