You quoted Younes Sheikh in NY times:

and the world that blowing up mosques, beheading hostages and strapping on belts of explosives are far, far greater evils than a few drawings in a distant paper.

When India attacked Pakistan in 1965 with 600 tanks, a small company of soldiers had only one option, to tie explosives on their backs and crawl under the Indian tanks. That halted the Indian advance as tanks their tanks suddenly seemed to blow up from underneath.

Here, there is a war going on, with US and Israeli jets pounding civilian populations. I for one would never condone the killing of innocent civilians under any circumstances.  But thank God I am not in that circumstance, otherwise who knows what one would do from desperation.  The reaction of the 'terrorists' is correct, only the targets are wrong.  But they cannot get to the military targets because the cowards drop bombs from 10,000 feet in the air. I wonder what the solution is.

Everyone is keen to be either apologetic for Muslims, or side with them, or criticize them. No one has offered a viable solution.  This is where we need to focus.  Violence is the cause of violence. We need to understand, and experience before we criticize.  And we cannot do this sitting in our living rooms typing on our computers. We are too far from the reality of the situation.

As far as I am concerned, those who worship God Alone are guaranteed perfect health, wealth and peace of mind (Quran 24:55).  The rest suffer the tyranny of each other. But again that is not a solution, rather an explanation.
