The question that was put forward to FOTH was incorrectly
framed, and did not highlight the real issue. The question is copied here,
again:
"quote - "I was told that comments from Khaleel Saddiqqi is under hate crime and spread anger to our shaia community. Please advise if I need to remove his comments. I was unable to read his comments. I would advise you to reply asap - unquote" The main issue was not about sensitivities of any faith, like Ahmedi, shia, Ismaili etc, but about all the unrelated gibberish, that is not related to the subject at all and takes the discussion in a wrong direction. Any person who acts as a moderator has the responsibility to ensure that "no bullshit" gets into the discussion that is not related to the subject of the thread. The crap (that was based upon the writers own figment of imagination and belief) has been endorsed by some of our friends in FOTH, probably Khaleel corresponded to their belief system, and the immediate reaction was the endorsement of these views. Naturally, such an endorsement and shift in the subject of discussion was immediately picked up by a gentleman named Akhtar Shirazi and being his favorite subject, he responded with a 50 page write-up with all sorts of mumbo jumbo, including personal innuendo and his personal interpretation of Quran and Hadees, that is totally different from rest of the world. He also included my name to condemn me (for what?...I don't know). This all happened, because due to our lack of methodology, direction and group discussion moderation, also encouragement of our own people to start a unrelated discussion thread inside a thread, there are people all around us who are 24/7 ready to start their preaching orgy, and due to absence of checks and balances on our side, what ensued was actually a totally unrelated thread. So, in conclusion, 1) The question was wrongly worded. 2) That response of our own people was also ill-conceived, as a result of that and some other reasons. What should be done?? Draw your own conclusions. NK |
