There was some news floating around in less reputable journals . . .  but . . . sadly, it is confirmed - Jerusalem Post is a respectable newspaper.  Bhutto had a meeting in September with Israeli ambassador to UN - an intimate dinner - and a follow-up meeting to confirm deliverables (only with Gillerman's wife):

Gillerman also said that he promised to provide her with influence in Washington.  I think her false confidence was due to the faith in US and Israeli lobby backing.

According to Maariv, another respectable paper, she was in touch with Israeli president Peres and others in Israel, and also requested Mossad for security - Israel foreign ministry debated and then decided not to risk it, also citing 'Indo-Israel' relations.  Wow - think about that phrase for a long moment - in other words: what India would feel if the Mossad were to directly provide services in Pakistan.

With a self-defined mandate to 'hand over AQ Khan' and 'deal with Pakistan's military', she should have kept away from Israel contacts, at least in public.

To me, it explains her feelings of invincibility - which was a bit strange for me to fathom.
