Dear Friends,
I am going off
topic but it was too hard to resist sharing it with you.
As you might know, a
group of parents have sued the school board in Dover, Pennsylvania
for introducing Intelligent Design in the 9th grade biology class.
The trial is still going on although all the school board members in
Dover who were up for elections were voted out on November 8th
elections by people of Dover.
I was reading the
transcript of the November 7th proceedings of the trial (I know, I
know. I need to get a life) and came across this beauty presented in
court by the lawyer representing the parents.
The Intelligent
Design (ID) proponents always insist that they are not
"creationists" since the claims of creationism were
thoroughly debunked by science. They refuse the ID movement is the
continuation of Creationist movement. They say that its an entirely
new idea conceived purely thru science.
Following is what the
lawyer of the parents presented as exhibits.
The first exhibit is
a scan of a page from a "Creationist" biology textbook
called "Biology and Creation" 1986 edition

After showing
different editions of the same book, she presented the scanned image
of another book. This book is called "Of Pandas and
People" and it is the book that Intelligent Design folks are
trying to introduce to the curriculum. Here is the scan.

Please see the
beginning of the last line. Somebody (probably a lazy person like
me) forgot to delete the word "creationists" and instead
typed "design proponents" in the middle of it. The rest is
the same.
And then they say
evolutionists never find intermediate fossils.
Cheers,
Rafi
