Mysteries of Mysticism
The discussion has
gone off on tangent by questions raised by
Dr. Khalid Sohail
and Mr. Rashid
Mughal. But the questions were important in many ways and
needed to be discussed. In particular, Rashid Mughal’s question about
Islam’s attitude towards other faiths is of
paramount importance as it has
direct bearing on our new generations growing up in the Western
societies.
As “Family
of The Heart” is a pertinent platform for such
deliberations and this question has such a bearing on our youth and our
future generations, I would like to invite other intellectuals of this
platform to throw their ideas on this issue. In particular, I request
Farzana Hassan
to give us her valuable insight on this matter. I am making this
request, as she is the recognized authority on Islamic issues in FOH
platform and has the scholarly knowledge of canonic and theological
doctrines of Islam. I copy Mr. Mughal’s question here for the reference:
“As for erecting walls of
division between religions and faiths and inciting hate between Jews,
Christians and Muslims (as in Israel and Palestine even today),
the Koran states, "Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith [Islam]"
(2:98). You
may, if you wish, please tell Family
of the Heart why Allah would render Himself so partial in
such volatile and sensitive matters, and what will happen to Hindus and
Buddhists and all the Eskimos and others who indulge in alternative
spiritualities on the Day of Judgment?” |
