I think most
of the participants in this discussion have
expressed the opinion that we (humans) are responsible for the
violence in our lives and in our universe. The question is where
does it stem from.?....biology, culture, social/political
philosophies, religion, dogmatism...all play a role.
The consensus,
thus far, seems to be
that violence is
innate and therefore we resort to it so readily. I am more partial
to this conclusion. However, I disagree that it is so because we
are supposedly made in the image of the Patriarchical Deity of the
three revealed Books. Man is not a mirror image of it's "so
-called Maker". If anything, the Maker is created in our
image. Man has invested the "so-called Maker" with the petty
attributes like jealousy, vengefulness, anger, etc; along the
noble ones like benevolence, forgiveness and so on. Therefore, the
"Maker" is the mirror image of Man.
In the end, we
are responsible for our actions. I would like to throw in a
thought that since we have created god/s in our image, we are
responsible for his/hers/their nature too?
