Dear
Members of the Family of The Heart
www.familyofheart.com
I strongly believe that your
presence and support in the program we held on August 13, 2005, is a major step
towards the noble objective, PEACE BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN. I think if we
ever participate in a noble cause, we deserve to feel good. I noticed that [the
evening of August 13], we all felt good.
May I share one concern? We started
one and quarter hour late. Apart from loss of time, we also missed out an
additional hour of music. I know our members are extraordinary special people.
Punctuality is easy if we keep it in mind for a group such as ours.
We must also observe matters from
which we can learn more and do things differently and better. We all should try
to increase it, even though we are happy about the attendance we had. As most of
the members of the FAMILY OF THE HEART
are Pakistanis each one of us should bring with us one Indian friend. See how
easily we can double the attendance and also have equal participation. We all
have good Indian friends who will be happy to join.
In our
opinion there should have been a few DESI television and newspaper reporters. I
sent several emails, and made phone calls. Pervaiz Sahib did, too. Except the
one who supported our cause, no one, including the few who made definite
commitment to come, showed up. But this does not discourage us. I think these
people have not taken us seriously yet. But that will change.
I suggest that in future
we look forward to doing more and better programs for peace. I suggest that
FAMILY OF THE HEART take another bold step. Every year, Indians and Pakistani’s,
under one roof, should celebrate the important events such as Divaali,
Baisaakhi, Eid, etc. I understand that Divaali is on November 1,
2005. Let’s celebrate that on the 29th of October, which is Saturday.
Or, would November 5 be better, which is also on Saturday.
